PlayStation 5
Because Sony blocks third-party devices, you must use the Zen Link Wi-Fi Module or the USB Bypass method. We strongly recommend the Zen Link.
Xbox (All Models)
Xbox is plug-and-play. You do not need a bypass.
- 1Plug the short micro-USB cable into the top CONSOLE port of the Zen, and plug the other end into your Xbox.
- 2Plug your Xbox controller into the left A1 port of the Zen using a high-quality data USB cable.
- 3Make sure your Zen Studio “Emulator Output Protocol” is set to Xbox One X/S or AUTO.
Xbox Headset Fix
If your headset does not work when plugged into your Xbox controller, you may need to downgrade your Zen firmware to version 2.0.9-beta.43.
PC
Connecting to a PC is simple. Your PC will usually read the Zen as a normal Xbox controller.
- 1Plug the short micro-USB cable into the top CONSOLE port of the Zen, and plug the other end into your PC.
- 2Plug your controller into the left A1 port of the Zen.
- 3Make sure your Zen Studio “Emulator Output Protocol” is set to Xbox 360. This gives you the best compatibility with PC games.
Top 3 Mistakes Everyone Makes
- Leaving the PROG cable plugged in: The right-side PROG cable is only for Zen Studio. If you leave it plugged into your PC while trying to play a game, your controller can disconnect.
- Using a cheap charge-only cable: The cables that come with the Zen can break easily. If your controller turns on but does not do anything, your cable may be the issue. Use a data-sync micro-USB or USB-C cable.
- Using a USB hub: Always plug the Zen directly into your console or PC. Do not use a USB hub or extension cable.
