Dribbling Moves & Combos - Basketball
Dribbling in basketball is about rhythm, reads, and combos, not spamming moves. The best ball handlers chain 2-3 moves together to create separation, then attack.
Core dribble moves
Beginner combos
Start with these. They work in any mode and are easy to execute:
- 1Hesi to Crossover to Drive. The classic. Hesi to freeze, crossover to change direction, attack the basket.
- 2Size-up to Behind the back to Pull-up. Size-up to make the defender guess, BTB to create space, shoot the mid-range.
- 3Hesi to Stepback to 3-pointer. Hesi to sell the drive, step back for space, pull the trigger. Deadly from the hash.
Advanced combos
These require better ball handle ratings and take practice:
- 1Speed boost to Hesi to Momentum escape to Finish. Use turbo to trigger a speed boost, cancel with hesi, momentum escape past the defender for a layup or dunk.
- 2Curry slide chain. RS toward ball hand while sprinting at an angle. Chain 2-3 together to zigzag across the court. Pairs great with a stepback 3 at the end.
- 3Snatch-back to Drive. Hesi with slight delay, then immediately sprint the opposite direction. The defender bites on the hesi and you blow by.
Dynasty AI Ankle Breakers
Dynasty includes AI Ankle Breakers, which are D-pad combos that replace complex right-stick inputs. Tap a D-pad direction to trigger combos like BTB Spam, Curry, DBook, B Break, Escape, or Momentum. This is much easier than learning every stick move manually.

Don't spam
Spamming the same move repeatedly is the fastest way to get the ball stolen. Mix up your moves, read the defender, and attack when you see the opening, not before.
